I was invited by Leah to attend the ‘Art Car Boot’ she has organised after she saw my work at the Summer Show. A local craft show with Jewellery, Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Crafts – New, Old and Found with workshops, food and drink it’s just a couple weeks to go. I’m busy making and really looking forward to the event.

Last Friday 23rd May was a big day for me! After 3 years of a studying a BA in Jewellery and Silversmithing I handed in my FINAL module ‘Creative and Professional Conclusion’. It was a strange feeling and as I sit here preparing for my presentation tomorrow to talk about my work I feel sad, sad that the routine of Uni, with my tutors and friends has come to an end. However, I can only be excited about what is to come in the future. Uni has been incredibly hardwork and time consuming and I now can’t wait to find opportunities to exhibit and work in the big wide world!!

Had a fab day in London last Sunday to see Collect. Here are a few of my favourite pieces, ones which I have studied throughout my degree, which were amazing to see, especially Bettina Speckner or I ones which were inspiring and exquisite. It was amazing to see work which can be, and I would agree with, falls into the ‘Art’ Category of Craft. Items beautifully crafted, some quite unwearable or wearable art, others conceptual but desirable and sort after by collectors and the public to see this advancing and developing world of international Craft and Art.
1st Hallmarking

My Hallmark!!!! I got my 1st pieces successfully hallmarked with my personal COB sponsors punch! Can’t believe it, feels amazing. I can happily add that my recycled silver which i make through a timely process from melting unwanted pieces of silver jewellery (aiding my practice as sustainable maker) has continued to hold the metal quality and has been verified 925 silver, awesome!!

I can’t wait to go to Collect tomorrow!! I haven’t been to this show before or to the Saatchi Gallery and I know I am going to be overwhelmed by the talent and artists exhibiting. Will report back!
Absence
I realise I have become some what neglectful of my updates and use with my blog. 2014 so far has gone so fast! Uni has been quite time consuming and just a tad distracting. My work has been developing well and have been wholly consumed with my making and the final brief for my 3rd year of BA Hons Jewellery and Silversmithing. Just over a month to go I am finishing up my final range which will be on show at the Plymouth College of Art Summer show and New Designers, London. This is the link to New Designers http://www.newdesigners.com/ the graduate show for the country. Daunted to be showing my work at such a prestigious event but also can’t wait to show it to the public and professionals in the craft realm and hope to get good feedback!
Lots of new work to get up on here so best get on!!
