Inspire Exhibition

Was great to get my collection packed up and sent to Walford Mill Crafts today for the Christmas Exhibition ‘Inspire’. Some new pieces in the collection, these necklaces ‘Devon’ and ‘Beautiful’ are favourites.
It’s been a very busy few weeks getting pieces finished off and juggling a full time job, these darkening evenings also make the studio slightly less inviting! Lots to do for the next event ‘Native Makers’ 28th November

The Contemporary Craft Festival

I had the most wonderful time at The Contemporary Craft Festival on the 5th – 7th June. I met so many inspirational makers and people who found my stand and loved my work. It was such a pleasure to sell my jewellery to new customers and make new acquaintances. Being part of the ‘One Year On’ tent was such a pleasure and everyone worked so hard.

Being my first show and event in my early stages of my business I have acquired some great interest and opportunities and am excited about the next steps. I will soon be back in the workshop making new pieces and finding more great shows to be a part of!

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did if you made it to the show.

Plymouth College of Art – Graduate Scheme

Since I left University last June I have really missed the hub of creativity, chatter between students and drive of inspiration. Although I absolutely LOVE my gorgeous workshop I find the solitude hard sometimes. I was given a fantastic opportunity in March this year to become part of the Graduate Scheme at Plymouth College of Art. This means that one day a week I volunteer in the Jewellery Department helping the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years with their work and giving demonstrations on techniques and processes. In the afternoon I concentrate on my making as a professional jeweller and work towards the looming deadlines I have. It’s fantastic being back in the workshop (and this year the posh new workshop has opened), watching everybody make, think and create.

Contemporary Craft Festival 2015

ccf

I have been to the Contemporary Craft Festival many times and volunteered there in my 2nd year of University. This year is a different year! I would never have thought 3 years ago that there would have been a suggestion that I would be showing there as a professional jeweller, and it is so exciting to know that this year I am. I have been accepted into the ‘One Year On’ tent with many other fantastic makers and some fellow students on my course at Plymouth College of Art. I am ready for the next few exciting months of making for the show in June. Here’s the link, it’s such a fab, prestigious event, well worth a weekend visit – http://craftsatboveytracey.co.uk

In the workshop

workshop

It brings me such joy when I can work quietly in my workshop, and it certainly helps when the sun is shining!

It has been very cold in the workshop recently and has made my working in there quite difficult. But I love my workshop so much and as the evenings start getting lighter I can get concentrating on all the work I have to do for my upcoming events.
